Position Overview
Olson Engineering, a full-service, multi-discipline engineering company providing services to the petrochemical market, is seeking experienced, motivated and highly technical Civil/Structural Designer to join our team. Designer should have at minimum of 5 years of experience. Candidates should have a working knowledge of concrete and steel design related to the petrochemical industry and be familiar with design software such as AutoCAD and CADworx, As-Built, as well as Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Responsibilities and Duties
Designers are expected to:
- Perform in a team environment under supervision.
- Visit plant or refinery-type facilities for site investigation and field notes.
- Provide for/Coordinate all Civil/Structural project specific design needs between disciplines, engineers, and project managers.
- Possess ability to work with engineers and senior designers to develop detailed engineering drawing packages.
- Be able to prepare design layouts, sections, and details on all assigned projects for a complete construction package.
Education/Knowledge
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Associates degree or equivalent technical training in drafting / design preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of 3D design practices, systems, and procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are a must.
